Ranking All 7 Superhero Movies From 2016 In Order Of Anticipation
3. Deadpool
Deadpool is similar to Suicide Squad in the sense that fans were cautious in their anticipation for it, given how catastrophically bad the character was handled the last time he appeared on screen in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Once again, a Comic-Con trailer put all issues to rest. Although the same actor who played the bastardized version of Deadpool will still be taking on the mantle of The Merc With The Mouth, this time around Ryan Reynolds will be doing so as a version that pays homage to the character rather than trying to rewrite the essence of who he is. When director Tim Miller released a reel of conceptual test footage, the response from fans was overwhelmingly positive and caused the studio to push ahead with the project. Reynolds himself has also been a big proponent of getting the movie made - hopefully to atone for Green Lantern - and thanked the fans for finally making it happen. The trailer showed us plenty of over-the-top action and the type of fourth wall-breaking witty banter we expect from Wade Wilson and had fans salivating at the potential of the flick. Add in the fact that we've been promised a significant role for the criminally underused Colossus and the gut-busting T.J. Wilson as Deadpool's sidekick and this R-rated, vulgar and violent masterpiece looks like it's going to deliver.
