Ranking All Of Sean Bean's Movie Deaths From Lamest To Best

7. War Requiem - Stabbed With A Bayonet

When it comes to stabbings in war films, nothing really comes close to the fight scene near the end of Saving Private Ryan when Private Mellish is killed, but this scene from the 1998 experimental operatic movie War Requiem is certainly in second place.

The movie itself is a fascinating watch as it follows the life of poet and former soldier Wilfried Owen in a mostly wordless reenactment of his works. Sean Bean plays a German soldier who engages in a fight with Owen. The scene, though brutal in itself, is beautifully shot as it is slowed down and set to chilling operatic music (32.31 into the video).

This death makes the top ten purely for Bean's performance. Considering there is no sound other than the classical music in the background, the pain and sheer horror portrayed by Bean is incredibly palpable when he is overpowered by Owen and stabbed mercilessly in the gut with a bayonet.

What's especially gruesome about this is the moment where Bean tries to escape from Owen but instead falls to the floor and is hit with incredible ferocity.

Brutality: 9/10

Dramatic Flair: 8/10

Chance Pepto Bismal will Fix THAT Stomach Ache: 0/10
