Ranking All Of Sean Bean's Movie Deaths From Lamest To Best

4. Black Death - Torn Apart By Horses

Black Death (released in 2010) stars Eddie Redmayne and Bean who lead a group of soldiers on a quest to hunt down a mysterious necromancer who is allegedly bringing the dead back to life in a remote village. When they enter the village, all hell breaks lose as the soldiers are drugged, the town's women are stabbed and, of course, Sean Bean faces a death unlike any other he has faced before.

Carice van Houten plays the village's necromancer (very similar to her role as Melisandre in Game of Thrones) who condemns Bean to death for trying to get her followers to repent from their pagan beliefs. His limbs are tied to horses and he is slowly torn apart for not renouncing his own faith.

What's especially delightful about this particular death by dismemberment is the crunching and popping noises that his joints make every time the horses trot further forwards. Bean gets the last laugh though, as he confesses to having the plague himself and has thereby doomed the village. Just as the horses tear him apart like a piñata, he gives a wry smile knowing that he has had his revenge.

I see my role at WhatCulture the same way my wife sees my role as a lover: I contribute in a very small way, my presence is barely noticeable and I’m not entirely sure if the laughter is at me or with me.
