Ranking All Of Sean Bean's Movie Deaths From Lamest To Best

17. Essex Boys - Shot In The Head With A Shotgun

There's a lot wrong with the movie Essex Boys, but what's probably aged the worst is the title. Back in the year 2000 it may have sounded a lot tougher than in our post-The Only Way is Essex world, as these days if someone says 'Essex Boys' to you, you'd not be blamed for immediately thinking of narcissistic reality TV douchebags.

Essex Boys, however, is about a young lad named Billy who has recently gotten into the local crime cartel. His first job is to mind the psychotic thug Jason (Bean) who decides to take Billy under his wing.

Although Bean's actual death in this scene is underwhelming, the build up to it is magnificent.

In a double-crossed cocaine deal/ambush, two rival mob bosses take turns in firing shotguns into Bean's getaway car. Amongst the shotgun blasts you can hear Billy screaming for his life until Sean Bean is eventually blasted in the face from close range.

I'm no blood spatter expert, but I would expect a lot less of Bean's head to be in tact after a close encounter with a shotgun. For that reason, it's firmly in 17th place.

Brutality: 5/10

Head Damage: 3/10

Disappointment of Not Seeing Bean's Head Explode: Immeasurable
