2. Ant-Man
There's been a pervasive feeling that Marvel don't really want to make Ant-Man. The film's development pre-dates the MCU and head honcho Kevin Feige is on record saying it only exists because of Edgar Wright's passion for the project. That's the same Edgar Wright who left over creative differences, leaving a hole to be filled by Yes Man's Peyton Reed. Toss in the fact it's the most placid film in Marvel's epic and expansive upcoming line-up, sandwiched between Avengers: Age Of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War, and it's the sort of film that feels like a bit of an awkward obligation. So this second trailer is something of a delight. Sure, it still has that irritatingly overt self-awareness that acknowledges the ridiculousness of the concept while accidentally also hinting at the studio's contempt ("wasn't my idea"), but the film certainly looks a lot more exciting with this latest look. In fact, it's hard to see evidence of all that behind-the-scenes conflict on screen beyond that one line; the film looks as well-conceived as any of Marvel's other big gambles (if any of the studios films can be reasonably called gambles any more). And with the CGI action shots now completed, it's clear the film has a distinct (and, more importantly, logical) visual style that feels spiritually close to Wright's earlier test footage. And that moment where Thomas The Tank Engine steams towards a shrunk Yellowjacket, only for the model train to limply fall of the rails, is just plain hilarious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWdKf3MneyI
