6. The Age Of Adaline
RottenTomatoes Score: 54% (5.5/10) Box Office: Adaline cost a relatively modest $25 million for a high-concept romantic fantasy, and though it likely won't steal the #1 spot from Furious 7 this weekend, it'll still pull in about $11-12 million. It won't be a huge success in the long run, but not an outright failure, either. The Verdict: The movie has received heavily divided reviews so far, with most critics praising the direction and performances (particularly Harrison Ford, who doesn't show up until late in the day), but taking umbrage with the script, which many saw as cloying and needlessly sentimental. What's agreed by most, however, is that it's an interesting premise (of a 106-year-old woman trapped in a 29-year-old body), but one which could have been served a little better if it didn't aspire so much to be like a Nicholas Sparks novel. A pretty decent one, at least.
