Ranking April 2016's Movies - From Worst To Best
16. The Huntsman: Winter's War
RottenTomatoes Score: 16% (4.2/10)
Box Office: The highly unnecessary prequel-sequel failed to sell itself to audiences at large, resulting in an opening weekend below both tracking projections and the 2012 original's.
It's just barely made its $115 million budget back, but for all intents and purposes, considering how many weeks it's already been released internationally, it's a bomb.
Verdict: It's a follow-up nobody really asked for or wanted, and unsurprisingly, the result is a thoroughly mediocre cash grab. Sure, Charlize Theron brings some hammy fun to the table, but some atrocious accents from Chris Hemsworth and Jessica Chastain (who gives a rare bad turn here) combine with a pronounced lack of fun to make this CGI-driven blockbuster weirdly boring.
It's next to impossible to care about what's going on, the visuals are inconsistent, and you won't remember it a day after seeing it.
