Ranking April 2017's Movies From Worst To Best

12. The Boss Baby

The Boss Baby
Dreamworks

RottenTomatoes Score: 53% (5.5/10)

Box Office: Priced at a hefty $125 million, the DreamWorks animation substantially out-grossed opening weekend projections, and has raked in more than $360 million to date. A sequel is basically guaranteed at this point.

Verdict: Certainly not as terrible as the horrendous marketing suggested, The Boss Baby benefits hugely from Alec Baldwin's genuinely excellent vocal performance as the title character, even if the film's muddled, weirdly confusing narrative undermines a potentially satire-laced concept.

There's too much toilet humour and it doesn't exactly build to a satisfying resolution, but it's hardly unbearable, the animation is solid and there are quite a few sly gags aimed at adults, which will make it a much-less torturous sit for them than expected.
