Box Office: The fantasy-thriller's budget hasn't been disclosed, but it clearly didn't cost much. It's made just $130,000 from its theatrical release (mostly from Russia), so it'll be heavily reliant on strong word-of-mouth to make it a success in the VOD market.

Verdict: While it might be easy to dismiss this as a low-budget knock-off of A Monster Calls, I Kill Giants is nevertheless a charming and affecting fantasy thriller that stands proudly on its own two feat.

Touting gorgeous cinematography and surprisingly not-awful visual effects given the clear budgetary constraints, the film is nevertheless bolstered by a highly compelling lead performance from young Madison Wolfe.

Zoe Saldana also turns in some of her more interesting recent work, and if you're craving a left-field, achingly human drama, look no further.
