Ranking August 2015's Movies From Worst To Best

11. No Escape

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 43% (4.9/10) Box Office: No Escape was clearly made for a relatively low budget even though no official figure has been disclosed, and is estimated to make roughly $10-12 million from Wednesday-to-Sunday. It'll be profitable overall, albeit modestly so. The Verdict: On one hand, No Escape is as suitably brutal and visceral as its R-rating suggests, Owen Wilson proves surprisingly effective in the lead role, and Pierce Brosnan gets one of his most bada** parts in recent years, but No Escape struggles to be more than a relatively forgettable and frequently offensive B-movie actioner. Sadly the direction renders several of the action sequences a headache to watch, the movie's depiction of the non-white locals is questionable at best, and while hardly bad per se, it had the potential to be so much more.
