Ranking August 2016's Movies - From Worst To Best

15. Hands Of Stone

Suicide Squad Nine Lives Kubo And The Two Strings
The Weinstein Company

RottenTomatoes Score: 46% (5.4/10)

Box Office: The modest $20 million budget helps this one a little, but with a paltry marketing campaign and little appeal outside of the devoted, analysts are predicting Hands of Stone to fail to make its price tag back at the worldwide box office.

Verdict: Despite rock solid performances from Edgar Ramirez and Robert De Niro, there's simply too much melodramatic sludge filling out what should be a strong sporting biopic of the legendary boxer Roberto Duran.

The boxing sequences themselves are solidly put together if arguably pale in comparison to, say, last year's Creed, and it's fair to say that without De Niro's presence the film would feel a lot more lacking. Not bad, just not reaching its potential either.
