Ranking August 2017's Movies From Worst To Best

13. The Hitman's Bodyguard

The Hitman's Bodyguard
Lionsgate

RottenTomatoes Score: 39% (5.1/10)

Box Office: Made for an impressively scant $30 million, the buddy action-comedy opened slightly above expectations, but has still only barely made its budget back so far.

With international grosses and home video sales factored in, it'll be fine, but it's hardly the smash hit Lionsgate was probably banking on.

Verdict: Taking full advantage of Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson's comedic chemistry, The Hitman's Bodyguard may be overlong and suffer from some grotesque cinematography, but the action is snappy, the one-liners are fun, and it effectively delivers exactly what it says on the tin.

Shame that there probably won't be a sequel due to that underwhelming box office, though.
