Ranking December 2017's Movies From Worst To Best

8. Voyeur

Voyeur Gay Talese
Netflix

RottenTomatoes Score: 78% (6.5/10)

Box Office: Voyeur went straight-to-Netflix.

Verdict: A fascinating if undeniably queasy documentary about a former motel owner who used a secret viewing platform to watch his patrons "enjoying" his rooms, Voyeur examines the focal figure, Gerald Foos, with a probing curiosity that paints a compelling, uneasy portrait of the voyeur's mindset.

While it certainly feels like directors Myles Kane and Josh Koury let Foos off a little too easy overall, especially as the film branches off to explore the role of the journalist who brought him to the masses, there's still an entrancing, eerie quality to the doc throughout.

Not one of Netflix's better documentary acquisitions, but still intriguingly offputting all the same.

Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes). General video game, TV and film nut. Occasional sports fan. Full time loon.
