Who would have thought that Marvel and Disney would ever allow for the entire third-act battle of a superhero movie to feature a zombified version of the hero? With his rotting flesh in visible glorious close-ups for all the audience to see and wearing cloak made of the stuff of horrors, no less. Talk about pushing that PG-13 rating.

Yet here it is, in the flesh. We have one of the most out-there finales of an MCU movie. The image of Doctor Strange using the souls of the damned against Wanda in both defense and offense is nothing we have ever seen, but we are glad it is happening.

Doctor Strange and Wong try to keep Wanda at bay - and like the previous fight, Wanda is obviously more than a match for our heroes combined, yet she is not too overpowered that it would be too unbelievable if they win the battle with a lucky strike.

We know this finale is weird when Doctor Strange delivers a grand speech about the movie’s ultimate message of believing in one’s self and one another to America Chavez while in full-on zombie make-up. All played with complete sincerity.

To finish off, we get a one-on-one fight between Wanda and America, with America delivering satisfying punch after punch to Wanda on her face, now fully mastering her multiversal power.

When America realized she cannot beat Wanda, she sends her to where her children from another universe can see her as a monster, ending the scene with gravitas as Wanda realize all the evil she has done and tries to have as much redemption as possible.
