Ranking Every Animated Batman Film From Worst To Best

6. Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero

This is one of the films that finds that perfect balance for its audience, being just as enjoyable for adults as it is for kids.

The second film based on the fabled Batman: The Animated Series, SubZero puts the tragic character of Mr. Freeze into the limelight for his finest hour. Prior to The Animated Series, Freeze was nothing more than a joke villain in the DC comics, but the show saw potential and gave him some genuinely compelling stuff to work with. The makers saw the compelling image of a good man who wanted nothing more than to save his wife's life before things went terribly wrong.

While Freeze would go on to appear in the show even after this movie, Subzero is still very much regarded as the wonderful character's curtain call and rightly so. It's a wonderfully animated film that tells a mature and all too real story about what desperation can to a person, all while maintaining a familiar tone for younger fans. It features franchise MVP, Kevin Conroy, as well as giving back Mr. Freeze the dignity Batman & Robin stripped from him.
