7. Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice (2016)
Well, wasn't this a bit of a mess? Few will argue with Zack Snyder's ability to compose beautifully striking images, but his overblown, CGI-fueled finale as Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) take on Lex Luthor's (Jesse Eisenberg) creation Doomsday is, above all else, weirdly generic.
What will likely prove most frustrating to Batman fans is that he's barely in this fight at all: he shoots a few rounds at Doomsday, but then spends the rest of the fight cowering while the "meta-humans" do their thing. It makes a certain sense story-wise, but is there really nothing else Batman could've done?
The rock 'em, sock 'em slug-fest between Superman and Doomsday is fitfully fun and has its moments of stylistic intrigue, but it gets exhausting fairly quickly, Wonder Woman's presence is too brief, and Superman's "death" at the end falls flat because he's brought back to life like 15 minutes later.
