Ranking Every Chucky Movie From Worst To Best

It's by the third instalment that you have to question how Chucky keeps coming back. Apparently him being rebuilt resurrects him? Although, one has to wonder how his dormant corpse still contained fresh blood after spending several years gathering dust in the dolls factory. Regardless, his return certainly allowed for a chilling opening sequence, as Chucky stalks the CEO of the company that produces the Good Guy dolls, before brutally strangling him.

Although Alex Vincent was sadly absent from this film, it was still great to see Andy come back nonetheless via a new actor, this time grown up and having been set to military school. The sequel focuses on his trauma, and how his past experiences with Chucky have messed with him psychologically. Though, he hasn't managed to escape the irony of nobody believing him about a killer doll on the loose. You'd assume he'd have learnt to come up with a better story to convince people to believe him by this point.

Chucky definitely feels more ruthless and sadistic in this sequel, with the overall tone being raw in its execution, particularly through the harsh music. It's also interesting to see all the obstacles this film throws at Andy, pitting him against multiple enemies on top of Chucky, but the murderous doll ultimately proves to be the most vicious foe. In fact, he ends up killing, or causing the deaths of everyone that crosses Andy, so maybe he can be a good guy from time to time?
