Ranking Every Chucky Movie From Worst To Best

1. Bride Of Chucky

It's fair to say Bride of Chucky was were Don Mancini decided to get creative. That, and breaking the mould on the Child's Play franchise. Inspired by old Universal monster properties, Chucky was granted a bride in order to aid him in his murderous ways. Along with this, the franchise evolved in its tone, taking on a more comedic approach with dark humour, and a kind of slap-stick feel as Chucky bounced off Tiffany.

Regardless whether or not adding Tiffany into the mix was the best idea, and whether it was clever to take a more jokey approach to this iconic horror mascot, it remains to be the most entertaining instalment. By allowing Chucky to take a more frontal position, it allowed Brad Dourif to really reign in on developing the killer doll, and genuinely having a lot of laughs in the process, whilst the audience gained a much more personal experience. How often do you follow a horror movie from the perspective of the killer?

Tiffany's character also helped expand Chucky, demonstrating his more romantic nature (which is still quite sickening), and giving him someone just as twisted to relate to. Though, clearly, her addition was played up for laughs, despite her messed up persona, and allowed for some amusing jokes regarding two psychopaths having gotten married, having arguments, and ultimately murdering one another. Till death do us part I suppose.

Despite the more comedic elements (which really help make the film stand out) the gore and violence is still just as strong, resulting in some amazing kills. Though it was sad that Andy was completely absent from this film. And maybe seeing Chucky having sex was a step too far.
