Ranking Every DC Movie Villain From Worst To Best

24. Doomsday (Batman V Superman)

DC Villains Updated
Warner Bros.

Putting aside the initial misgivings about his design (which Warner Bros stupidly invited by needlessly spoiling him in the trailers for Batman V Superman), Doomsday's levelled up version in the film is ultimately impressive, and there's no doubting that he's a genuine threat.

The problem is, his whole inclusion smacks of Zack Snyder jumping the shark. With the shadow of Man Of Steel's disappointment hanging over him, he had to go bigger and darker (in his own mind at least), which turned Doomsday - who should be an arc-ending villain - into a super-powered monster of the week.

Instead of being a villain with substance, Doomsday ends up occupying the same sort of space as Tim Roth's Abomination, or the creepy GM alien from Alien Resurrection. He's powerful, but for all his muscle flexing and loud noises, he's just not as memorable as he ought to be.
