19. Batman Vs. Robin (2015)

Justice League Doom
Warner Bros.

A direct follow-up to Son of Batman, this has the dynamic duo working in full force together until the villainous Court of Owls turns the Boy Wonder against father and, you guessed it - there's a smack-down between the two.

Damien's violent ties are tested to the breaking point but unfortunately none of the elements really surprise you - he's conflicted, murderous and then heroic - we've seen this arc done before and they're not pulling overtime to have the character win you over.

Also if you think the titular fight is going to end up with bloodshed or severed ties then you don't know your superhero 101. Still, one element helps make this the strongest out of the Damien Wayne series, and that is the addition of the Court of Owls lending some stand-out flavour and menacing antagonists with an enticing mythology.

Also where this venture succeeds handsomely, is in the blood-pumping action scenes (not surprising with Jay Olivia directing). The titular fight is exciting but the true coup is the brutally excellent stand-offs Batman has against the Owl's zombified assassin's; since the henchmen are undead, we see a much more vicious Bat's as he explodes, be-head's and even busts out a Mech-Suit to rip these zombies a new one.
