Ranking Every Disney Animated Movie From Worst To Best!
9. Zootopia (2016)
Zootopia is an allegory for systemic racism that has all the subtlety of a brick to the face. But honestly, when dealing with such a sensitive issue, it's okay to hammer the point home, especially for a younger audience.
And to continue this hammer motif - they pretty much hit the nail on the head here.
Sure, it's definitely problematic to liken real-world people to predatory animals, but let's not forget: this movie is marketed primarily towards children. And all things considered, this is pretty much the perfect way they could have taught children about something so complex.
But apart from that, this is just a great movie.
It's got fun characters, genuinely-great comedy, and features some of Disney's most powerful scenes yet. And Nick and Judy's relationship is one of the best in any Disney movie.
