Ranking Every Disney Princess From Worst To Best
1. Moana - Moana
As far as Disney princesses are concerned, Moana is a paragon.
Throughout the movie, we see her persevere through crippling self-doubt and defy her family's preconceived roles for her to fulfill the duty that the sea has bestowed upon her. She doesn't know how or why she was chosen, but she presses on nonetheless because of the palpable importance of the matter. Despite overwhelming odds, she displays incomparable courage and tackles every challenge with resolve.
What's also admirable about Moana is that she is not bogged down with a love story. Conversely, her relationship with Maui outlines just how meaningful platonic relationships between men and women can be. This is ultimately what gave her the edge over Mulan in the end because, while Mulan did save China, her love story with Shang feels kind of shoehorned in because they "had to".
But here's the thing - they didn't have to. And Moana proves that.
In conclusion, Moana is the very model of what every Disney princess should be going forward.
