Ranking Every Halloween Film From Worst To Best

9. Halloween II (2009)

Say what you will about Rob Zombie's Halloween movies, but there's no denying that they're never anything less than interesting.

His particular brand of Halloween films are certainly an acquired taste and 2009's Halloween II is a particularly nasty morsel to swallow. Full to the brim with hideous violence, bizarre dream sequences, and a whole host of unlikeable and downright awful people, this is by far the ugliest Halloween film to date.

Those familiar with Zombie's style will no doubt find some enjoyment in its overwhelmingly harsh atmosphere, but for many, this film is a little too bleak and brutal. The decision to show most of Michael's face throughout its runtime, as well as actually having Michael speak for the first time has proven controversial and for a lot of fans, this is the worst film in the series.

It's not all bad though, as this film is beautifully shot and well-acted, even in spite of the script's gaping flaws and gratuitously crass dialogue.

Whilst objectively not a well put together film on its own merits, Zombie's Halloween II is definitely the most unique and 'out-there' Halloween movie ever made - but whether or not that's a good thing is up to you.
