Ranking EVERY James Bond Henchman From Worst To Best
39. Mitchell (Quantum Of Solace, 2008)
Quantum has people everywhere, including M's bodyguard Craig Mitchell. Despite his years of service, we'd never seen him before - somewhat lessening the impact of his reveal as a treacherous double agent.
The fact that the mysterious organisation has plants at the very centre of enemy intelligence was an interesting way of showing Quantum's staggering reach - even if the film goes on to show the extent of their villainous schemes to be less Blofeld and more Borefeld.
Still, you don't seize hold of Bolivia's water supply without having friends in the right places. Nor can you escape the clutches of MI6.
After rescuing the captured Quantum hotshot Mr White, Mitchell leads 007 on a merry foot chase through Sienna. It all culminates in a prettily-framed fall through a glass dome, followed by Bond dangling from a rope and getting his hands on his gun just in time to take the fatal shot.
If nothing else, Mitchell showed his mettle; he certainly wasn't the easiest kill of 007's illustrious career. He was also skilled enough to hide his true allegiance from M through almost a decade as her apparent protector. That's no mean feat.
