Ranking Every Jim Carrey Movie Worst To Best
1. The Truman Show (1998)
The Truman Show is so many things: a fantastically prescient predictor of reality TV, a satirical takedown of our reliance on mass media, and an outstanding actor's showcase for Carrey, while working with world-class filmmaker Peter Weir.
Though the film bafflingly missed out on Best Actor and Best Picture Oscar nominations, it is the film of Carrey's career - hilarious, affecting, and true to life.
While not as strictly relatable as Eternal Sunshine, its conceptual cleverness and well-aged speculations on the future of the world make it a fascinating film to return to again and again.
More than any other serious(ish) role in Carrey's filmography, it is extremely difficult to imagine anyone else playing the part.
