6. Anne Hathaway - The Dark Knight Rises
Was Anne Hathaway by any stretch of the imagination a bad Catwoman? Absolutely not. In fact, she was pretty good in the role. However, was she a particularly great one? Sadly, not really.
Hathaway did a fairly good job portraying Selina Kyle in The Dark Knight Rises, all but nailing the character's personality, in addition to having some pretty cool action scenes to work with. Plus, her outfit was a nice callback to the character's early days.
However, in a trilogy that made a name for itself by giving us brand-new interpretations of iconic Batman characters, Catwoman's pretty much kept the status quo, which would have been fine had just about every other character not broken it to some degree.
Hathaway's Catwoman lacks a complete character arc. We don't get a proper explanation of how exactly Selina Kyle became Catwoman and while other versions of the character that also didn't have an origin story rank higher on this list, the Nolanverse doesn't really have an excuse for this considering the resources they had at their disposal.
Anne Hathaway did a good job with what she was given, but she could have been given just a little bit more.
