Ranking Every Magnificent Seven Character From Worst To Best
1. Sam Chisolm (Denzel Washington)
Casting Denzel Washington in a western directed by Antoine Fuqua is just too perfect, and Washington is reliably brilliant as the steely, honourable leader of the seven men.
While he might not wise-crack or be as physical as the other characters, he's exactly what the film needs: a rudder who keeps them together and pushes forward to get the job done.
Denzel looks fantastically dapper and totally nails the part, especially his violent confrontation with Bogue at the climax, where the anguish of Denzel's past (his mother and sisters being murdered by Bogue) comes boiling to the surface.
His undeniable natural charisma makes him the glue of both the group and the movie, holding it all in place with his effortless bada**ery.
