Ranking Every Nicolas Cage Movie Worst To Best
53. Next (2007)
File this straight under "great idea, horrible execution," because as neat as it is to see Cage cast as a magician with the ability to see two minutes into the future, he's held hostage within a generic Hollywood treatment.
Next ends up wasting far too much time on its most slack, formulaic elements, like a lame-brained romance between Cage and Jessica Biel, ahead of an hilariously insulting twist ending which fatally derails the entire thing.
Someone really should remake this movie sometime, because the setup is killer.
52. Snowden (2016)
Beyond it just being too damn soon for an Edward Snowden biopic, this film was another disappointingly limp, toothless effort from the once-great Oliver Stone.
Despite a solid effort from Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the title role in spite of not looking much like the real Snowden, this is a completely forgettable drama that not even Cage, who appears in a small role as a professor, can help salvage.
Not terrible, just bland.
