Ranking Every Nicolas Cage Movie Worst To Best
49. Knowing (2009)
Knowing is one of the more frustrating films in Cage's filmography, an enticing thriller about Cage's MIT astrophysics professor - again, don't laugh - who tries to deduce a pattern which will apparently predict the end of the world.
There's an absolutely killer plane crash sequence in the film and it's stylishly helmed by Alex Proyas for the most part, while Cage gives a suitably compelling performance.
However, the deeply unsatisfying ending just takes too far of a left-turn into silly territory, despite committing to an otherwise ballsy finale.
48. National Treasure: Book Of Secrets (2007)
While not quite reaching the heights of its fun predecessor, National Treasure 2 is still a solid slice of escapist fun. Cage is given the floor to go to some nutty places, while Helen Mirren and Ed Harris add a ton of value to the cast.
Though oddly panned by critics, this is a great example of a film that knows exactly what it is and just has fun accordingly. With it easily tripling its budget at the box office, where the hell is National Treasure 3 already?
