Ranking Every Nicolas Cage Movie Worst To Best

45. Dog Eat Dog (2016)

Dog Eat Dog
RLJ Entertainment

Nicolas Cage and Willem Dafoe in a down-and-dirty crime thriller directed by Paul freaking Schrader - what else do you really need to know?

Though nobody could be blamed for being repulsed by a movie this brutally violent and morally bankrupt, it sure does make for compulsive viewing, more a result of Dafoe's delightfully unhinged turn than Cage's oddly pared-down work.

Rife with shocking dialogue and head-scratching surreal asides, Dog Eat Dog is a barmy experiment that also happens to be a ton of demented fun.

44. Windtalkers (2002)

Windtalkers Nicolas Cage
MGM

Though Windtalkers offers up a unique narrative hook for a war movie - supposedly focused on the Navajo code talkers used during World War II, whose language was indecipherable to the Japanese - it predictably shifts the focus too far in favour of, you guessed it, the white man.

Beyond this, Windtalkers is a relatively corny war movie which tackles the issue of race in only the most facile fashion, though director John Woo's action sequences at least make it a worthwhile sit.
