Ranking Every Nicolas Cage Movie Worst To Best
43. The Frozen Ground (2013)
One of the genuine pleasant surprises of Cage's filmography, The Frozen Ground doesn't do a whole lot new, but delivers a solidly executed riff on the serial killer movie, with Cage in fine form alongside a sublimely creepy John Cusack and sympathetic Vanessa Hudgens.
It's lavishly filmed but stark and atmospheric all at the same time. It knows what it is, moves fast, and gives audiences exactly what they're expecting.
42. The Sorcerer's Apprentice (2010)
The fact that Disney of all companies greenlit a $150 million fantasy film starring Cage as Merlin's apprentice Balthazar Blake is completely hilarious, and though it bombed at the box office amid mediocre reviews, it's actually pretty fun.
Look, the particulars of the plot won't stick with you for long, but Cage and his young charge Jay Baruchel make for a neat pairing, there's some groovy action, and it never for a second takes itself too seriously.
