Ranking Every Nicolas Cage Movie Worst To Best
39. The Family Man (2000)
A bizarre non-schlock effort from Brett Ratner now, with this well-meaning yet sappy Christmas film - another one! - which casts Cage as a single-minded businessman forced to consider what he truly values in life.
This film does nothing but paint carefully inside the lines, yet thanks to the decent chemistry between Cage and Tea Leoni, it's basically acceptable comfort food. Considering the patronising nature of so many similar holiday-themed movies, this isn't really bad at all.
38. Astro Boy (2009)
This attempt to adapt the legendary manga series Astro Boy into a glossy, big-budget animation largely fell on deaf ears upon release, because while certainly not bad, it's just not particularly remarkable either.
Cage has a small but decent role as Astro Boy's tragic creator Dr. Tenma, and though the film is plenty nice to look at it, its emotional core feels disappointingly hollow.
