Ranking Every Nicolas Cage Movie Worst To Best
37. World Trade Center (2006)
Oliver Stone strikes again with another way-too-soon movie which attempted to offer up a sentimental dramatisation of the 9/11 attacks all while the public's wound was still very much raw a mere five years later.
Though Nicolas Cage and Michael Peña lead a skilled ensemble and it certainly delivers a heartfelt tribute to all the lives lost that day, almost 15 years on it hasn't aged spectacularly well, full of corny melodrama trying so desperately to wring tears from your eyes.
36. City Of Angels (1998)
You really have to hand it to anyone with balls enough to remake Wim Wenders' 1987 masterpiece Wings of Desire, and though this film never quite escapes its predecessor's shadow, it's decidedly better than you might expect.
This is largely thanks to the chemistry between Cage and Meg Ryan as an angel and the mortal woman he falls in love with respectively.
It certainly planes the edges away for the Hollywood crowd and its gender politics haven't aged well, but it could've been so, so much worse.
