Ranking Every Quentin Tarantino Movie Soundtrack Worst To Best
6. Death Proof
Death Proof is by far Tarantino’s worst film to date, but its one saving grace is its great soundtrack. It marks a rare time in which a soundtrack is much, much better than the actual movie itself.
The opening track, “The Last Race” - taken from the forgotten 1965 science fiction comedy film, Village of the Giants - is a particular highlight, and provides a great introduction for the film.
There are also some absolute brilliant tracks - including Marc Bolan’s “Jeepster” and Smith’s “Baby It’s You”. Also, some brilliant songs are used in some really iconic scenes, from The Coasters’ “Down in Mexico” (used in Butterfly’s lap dance scene) and Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich’s “Hold Tight” (used in the infamous car chase scene).
Although Death Proof is the one Tarantino movie you can probably skip, the soundtrack is really terrific.
