Ranking Every Stan Lee Marvel Movie Cameo From Worst To Best
13. Mental Ward Patient - Thor: The Dark World
The pseudo-science in Marvel films always risks being a bit too much. These are superhero originating from comics in the sixties; any scientific fact in there is going to be fleeting at best. This is certainly the case with the Thor films; at the time the most out there film in the MCU, with traditional fantasy being treated as sci-fi. So when Erik Selvig's talk about the upcoming Convergence almost becomes too much the film lightens up, not only revealing he's in a mental institution talking to an unbothered audience, but that he's in there with Stan Lee; "Can I have my shoe back?"
12. Security Guard - Hulk
It didn't take long for Stan Lee cameos to grow; by his fourth appearance he wasn't only the focal point of his scenes, but was getting his own lines. Appearing in Hulk as a moaning security guard alongside Lou Ferrigno (who played the transformed David Banner in the TV series), you can already see early on in the rise of the superhero genre that directors were being more overt in their inclusion of Lee. He had after all been a well known face in comics for years, so hiding him at the back of shot was a waste.
