Before the rise of Skynet, Project Angel operated within the Genetics Division of Cyberdyne Systems with the goal of creating a cybernetic organism. The first successful attempt came via a mouse, and this was eventually followed by the development of a human named Marcus Wright, who was successfully transformed into a cyborg, designated T-H.

Wright was reborn as a cyborg, though he didn't know he wasn't fully human when he regained consciousness years after his death. He found himself in a world overrun by killer robots, and when he made it to a resistance cell, the truth of his transformation became apparent.

Because he was still in possession of his human brain, Wright was significantly less advanced than his more robotic counterparts. He could be damaged and feel pain, but he was far less susceptible to injury than a normal human while also being superior in strength and speed.

Still, his internal structure was largely replaced with cybernetic parts. This made him into a sort of reverse-infiltrator, making it possible for him to enter Skynet's defenses unharmed. While inside Skynet's facilities, Wright managed to take on a T-800, though he did so with John Connor's help.
