Ranking: Every Tim Burton Movie From Worst To Best
9. Big Eyes (2014)
Easily Burton's best movie of the last few years, Big Eyes is in many ways a major step back from the director's more familiar stylistic shenanigans, employing restraint that befits the life story of artist Margaret Keane (played terrifically by Amy Adams).
Though it seems positively sedate compared to most of the filmmaker's more flamboyant works, it's no less worthy thanks to a fascinating true story and marvelous work from both Adams and an entertainingly over-the-top Christoph Waltz.
Sure, with a more potent script this could've been the Oscar player everyone hoped it would be, but it's still a respectable middle entry into the man's filmography.
Best Moment: In the film's most surreal scene, Margaret visits the supermarket and sees everyone sporting the iconic "big eyes" artistic style she created.
