Ranking: Every Tim Burton Movie From Worst To Best
8. Beetlejuice (1988)
For most, Beetlejuice was probably their big introduction to the delightfully weird world of Tim Burton. With an hilariously bonkers Michael Keaton performance and an adorable Winona Ryder in tow, this is effortlessly charming, stylistically amazing stuff.
It certainly helps that this was only Burton's second-ever movie, so our prevailing familiarity, even exhaustion with his work had yet to set in. Still, the madcap humour just feels more genuine and creative than just about anything he's made recently.
Plus, it's the movie that launched three careers into the stratosphere, so how could you not appeciate it?
Best Moment: Ghosts Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin use their supernatural powers to make the hoighty-toighty residents of their former home dance along to the Banana Boat Song. It's legendary.
