Ranking: Every Tim Burton Movie From Worst To Best
7. Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985)
Alright, so Pee-wee is never going to be for everyone, but Tim Burton was an inspired choice to bring the childhood icon's adventures to the big screen, in his feature debut no less.
Paul Reubens is naturally brillant in the title role, while Burton has a perfect handle on tone, ensuring that the pic can be enjoyed by kids (who will love the silliness) and adults (who will love the sly grown-up nods) in practically equal measure.
It may be an incredibly low-stakes adventure about recovering a stolen bike, but that simply gives Burton and Reubens as wide a remit as possible to field out the fun frolics above all else.
Best Moment: It's tough to pick just one, but that Ruth Goldberg-style breakfast machine is pretty damn amazing. Adult or child, you know you want one.
