Ranking: Every Tim Burton Movie From Worst To Best

11. Frankenweenie (2012)

Alice In Wonderland Johnny Depp Frankenweenie

Despite being nominated for the Best Animated Film Oscar, Frankenweenie came and went rather quickly without making much of a dent.

While a squarely mid-tier outing for the director, this long-gestating remake of his own 1984 short film boasts stunning black-and-white visuals, an affecting narrative most can relate to, his typical suburban satire, and a ton of nods to 1950s B-movies.

Perhaps it's the monochrome conception that prevented the film from graduating to stronger success, but for the more open-minded among us, it's a real, if slight, treat.

Best Moment: Pesky feline Mr. Whiskers gets electrocuted while holding a bat, transforming him into a disturbing, grotesque vampire-cat hybrid.
