Ranking: Every Tom Cruise Action Movie From Worst To Best
3. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol
The crowning achievement of the M:I series to date saw Cruise team with The Incredibles director Brad Bird for a movie that, in all honesty, isn't a million miles away from a cartoon (in the best possible way).
Something of a soft reboot for the series, Ghost Protocol admits Cruise's declining box office pull at the time, instead emphasising the strength of Ethan Hunt's overall team, including fresh new faces in Jeremy Renner and Paula Patton.
Action sequences are plentiful and ingeniously constructed, the group dynamic is marvelous, and the only real damp spot is the lamely forgettable villain. Otherwise, a top notch romp.
Best Moment: The butthole-clenchingly tense scene in which Hunt hangs from the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, with only some temperamental sticky gloves keeping him from sure death (and only just). Typically, Cruise clung to the building for real.
