Ranking Every Upcoming DCEU Movie By Anticipation
8. Flashpoint
Release Date: TBC
Billed As:
Taking place after Justice League, Flashpoint is the time-travel-infused DC multiverse story that sees The Flash accidentally ends up in an alternate reality where everything has changed and is forced to seek to restore the timeline.
Positives?
Flashpoint is one of those seminal comic book arcs that absolutely deserves to be adapted, and provided Warner Bros do the story justice (i.e. by not messing with it too much), we're in for a treat. It also obviously allows for lots of alternate reality variations on things we will have already seen in the DCEU, which is always a lot of fun.
Also, if Warner Bros can get Phil Lord and Christopher Miller in to direct (as is rumoured), that will be huge (particularly as they'll be so keen to prove LucasFilm wrong).
Concerns?
There's been a lot of upheaval behind the scenes, what with the departure of initial director Rick Famuyiwa and writer Seth Grahame-Smith (citing creative differences) and the significant rewrites. Let's just hope it was all just a process of refinement.
