There really shouldnt be anything exciting about a remake of a beloved British comedy that was the epitome of gentle Sunday evening viewing throughout the 70s. It sounds like the same kind of disaster that befell the St Trinians franchise, which, worryingly was also directed by Oliver Parker. But the cast of the remake is astonishingly talented, from Tony Jones to Bill Nighy, Michael Gambon and Tom Coutenay. And it feels like the kind of quaint, terribly British affair that makes Americans fall in love. Like Bridget Jones or Withnail & I. Release: Feb 5
