RottenTomatoes Score: 18% (3.8 average, at the time of press) Box Office: The movie only cost $5 million to make and is tracking to pull in anywhere from $12-14 million this weekend, so it'll be easy profits for the micro-budget Blumhouse Productions label. Despite an interesting premise that instantly reminds one of the 1990 trash classic Flatliners, The Lazarus Effect is being torn apart by critics for its dullness and, basically, its shocking lack of scares. It's too much of what's been seen before, with too little imagination while criminally wasting the talents of a cast including Olivia Wilde and Mark Duplass. Still, it's a horror movie released in February: what did you honestly expect?
