Ranking February 2016's Movies From Worst To Best

8. Race

RottenTomatoes Score: 60% (6.1/10) Box Office: The $5 million sports drama has made almost triple its budget back to date. A small success, but one all the same. Verdict: Race is a pitch-perfect example of a cliched sports drama done well: you know exactly what's going to happen, but you'll probably be won over by its earnest, good intentions before the credits roll. Yes, it's far too long at 134 minutes in length and the by-the-numbers approach does somewhat dilute the power of Stephan James' excellent performance, but it's a vital story that deserves to be told, and hits its unambitious markers with fair ease. More than anything, you'll probably be left wanting to see a documentary film about Owens, which surely someone needs to be working on right now.
