Ranking February 2016's Movies From Worst To Best

7. Eddie The Eagle

RottenTomatoes Score: 74% (6.4/10) Box Office: The $23 million sports drama made just $6.1 million in its opening weekend, falling below expectations and resulting in a catastrophic blow to Hugh Jackman's usually reliable box office standing. Verdict: Pretty much the definition of a crowd-pleasing, inspirational sports film, Eddie The Eagle benefits massively from the combined presences of Jackman and Kingsman's Taron Egerton to overcome an avalanche of genre cliches and predictability. There's never much doubt where it's going, but the sharp direction and consistently amusing tone give Jackman and Egerton plenty to work with, ensuring this is a feel-good treat. It won't stick in the brain for long after, but it's solid cinematic comfort food all the same.
