Ranking February 2016's Movies From Worst To Best

3. Deadpool

RottenTomatoes Score: 83% (6.9/10) Box Office: Produced for a "modest" $58 million compared to most comic book movies, Deadpool crossed the $600 million mark by the beginning of March, crushing a fleet of box office records and becoming the year's highest-grossing film...until Batman V Superman comes out. Considering how many expected it to bomb, this is so, so impressive. Verdict: If unfortunately still tethered to more superhero conventions than it would like to have you think (formulaic plotting and terrible villains), Deadpool is nevertheless a huge breath of fresh air, a sweary, profane, blood-soaked orgy of everything R-rated, driven by Ryan Reynolds' nutty, go-for-broke performance. In a world where Marvel Studios movies lack stakes and feel all too safe, Deadpool is a welcome reply, a film that, despite its generic elements, doesn't feel all that safe. With its monstrous success and sequel already confirmed, hopefully Deadpool's next outing will be a little more eager to venture far outside the box.
