Ranking February 2016's Movies From Worst To Best

2. Hail, Caesar!

RottenTomatoes Score: 83% (7.1/10) Box Office: The Coen Brothers' latest has made $40 million back against a $22 million budget, but it also marks their lowest ever debut for a film on wide release, which is surprising given the ridiculously awesome cast. Many, however, attributed it to a bad marketing campaign and opening on Superbowl weekend. Verdict: If not one of the Coens' "bigger" and "better" films of recent years, Hail, Caesar! is still an outrageously charming screwball romp, at once sending up and paying tribute to 1950s Hollywood, and amassing a tremendously talented cast to do it. It's all good fun even if the film doesn't feel like the brothers' A-grade material and it whiffs of lesser Coen fare in every sense of the word. It's got great personality even though it occasionally gives way to ennui and feels a little too long.
