Ranking February 2016's Movies From Worst To Best

11. How To Be Single

RottenTomatoes Score: 48% (5.2/10) Box Office: The $38 million comedy has made a modest but solid $74 million to date. It's not a monster hit, but decent enough all the same. Verdict: On one hand, How to Be Single is a welcome cut above the average for rom-coms released on Valentine's Day, and also benefits from a charming cast to boot, but it's still beholden to many of the cliches and tropes that define the genre, so isn't as subversive and forward-thinking as it believes itself to be. Still, 48% for either a rom-com is generally considered pretty good given how much critics hate those genres, and it's fair to say that the movie, though too long, boasts a solid run of laughs, while also latching onto more emotional honesty than you'd probably expect. If you don't like Rebel Wilson's shtick, though, this will do nothing to change your mind.
