Ranking February 2016's Movies From Worst To Best

10. Pride & Prejudice & Zombies

RottenTomatoes Score: 43% (5.4/10) Box Office: Proof perfect that you can't just shove zombies in everything and hope for box office dynamite, this adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's horror-comedy novel has only barely made half its modest $28 million budget back. It's, pardon the pun, a bust. Verdict: This is nothing more than a wasted opportunity from start to finish: for one, the PG-13 rating was a major mistake, meaning that there's not any satisfying gore to soak in. Then there's the pronounced lack of zombies throughout, the fact that the movie is often just a lame retelling of Pride and Prejudice, and a tone that doesn't know if it wants to be taken seriously or laughed at. Lily James is excellent in the lead role and Matt Smith also gives a hysterical supporting performance, but given the potential, this one's too cheap, too sanitised, and nowhere near as fun as it should have been. Had it embraced the silliness and the violence, it could have been a cult classic, but no.
